World number 30 Martin Klizan is the latest player confirmed for January's Heineken Open in Auckland. Tournament organiser Karl Budge says the 23-year-old Slovakian is a real player of the future. "A huge year on tour for him. "He's won ATP newcomer of the year, and a jump from outside the top 120 in the world to inside the top 30, he's had a barnstorming year." Klizan's biggest scalp is that of world number eight Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the US Open this year. The full field will be announced on Wednesday. Photo: Getty Images |
