Moerewa celebrates Rural Doctor of the Year

Related

A source of pride for a Northland town used to being in the news for the wrong reasons.

Often in the headlines for gang violence, Moerewa is celebrating an achievement by one of its GPs.

Graeme Fenton, of Moerewa Medical Services, has been named Rural Doctor of the Year.

He's been a driving force in improving access to health care in rural communities since setting up Moerewa Health Services in 1967.

Dr Fenton feels humbled by the award, and says his success is the result of a lot of effort by many, not just him.
