David Shearer remains the leader of the Labour Party.
MPs met in West Auckland this morning for an all day caucus meeting.
The leadership vote was at the top of the agenda.
The vote was a formality, and with no challenges, Mr Shearer says he easily got the 60 percent plus one needed to continue leading the divided party.
"It was a secret ballot, that's the way we have always done it in the Labour Party.
"I don't know the result, as far as I'm concerned - I don't really care, the point is that it is behind us, we move on now to show that we are a government in waiting."
