Anger over ad featuring woman smoking

By: Newstalk ZB staff | New Zealand News | Tuesday October 2 2012 7:38

A smoking charity's fuming about an ad featuring a young woman smoking.

The poster advertises the American label Bandit Brand and is on display at a WildPair store in Hamilton's Centre Place.

It shows a teenage girl with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth.

ASH is urging advertisers to be more responsible with young audiences and the Advertising Standards Authority is investigating a complaint.

The brand's online ads show tattooed models drinking alcohol, flashing their breasts and groping one another.
