American comedian Jonathan Winters dies

Related

Rubber-faced American comedian Jonathan Winters has died at his home in California aged 87.

Known for his mastery of improvisation and mimicry, he was on stage, radio, TV, and in movies for more than 50 years.

Jack Paar once quipped on the Tonight Show, 'here are the 25 funniest people I know: Jonathan Winters.'

He was in the TV series Mork and Mindy in the 1980s.

Winters was always clowning around at school, and later on, when he was in military service.

Robin Williams said he was 'my idol, then my mentor, then my friend'.

Jim Carrey said he was lucky to know him.
