Manawanui Stewart in court for Kapiti death

By: Newstalk ZB staff | Latest Crime News | Thursday December 6 2012 12:50

A 25-year-old man accused of killing a Kapiti Coast teenager has made a brief appearance in Porirua District Court this morning.

Manawanui Stewart has been charged with the manslaughter of 17-year-old Izak Millanta following his death in August.

Several police officers were in court today for Stewart's latest appearance.

He stood in the dock briefly while his lawyer asked for the case to be remanded until next Friday, when it is expected a resolution could be reached and a plea entered.

Tristam Lee Eastham, who is accused of killing Sean Strongman-Lintern in the same area just a month after Mr Millanta's death has had his court appearance rescheduled for later this month.
