Join Newstalk ZB at the Christchurch Holi Festival of Colours on Saturday 29 February in North Hagley Park from 10am-4pm.
This traditional Indian cultural festival celebrates the diverse people that call our city home through a variety of cultural music, performances, food, games and colour-throwing fun.
Celebrated in India as a festival of unity and togetherness, the colours thrown at Holi symbolise putting all differences aside and becoming equal - no matter your culture, background, religion or social status. In Ōtautahi-Chirstchurch, it’s all about joining together as one city for a hugely colourful, family-friendly day out.
At this year’s event you’ll also gain insights into the stories behind the beautiful performances you’ll see on stage, and the myths and legends that Holi originates from.
Dress all in white for your chance to enter our ‘most-colourful’ competition on the day.
Entry is free. Purchase your colours at the event – bring cash.
Holi is an event for everyone - all ages and abilities. It is wheelchair accessible, family-friendly, and strictly alcohol and drug free.
