A political commentator says it's over the top to claim the National Party is our biggest climate change threat

Columnist Simon Wilson wrote this week that National's refusal to endorse the Zero Carbon Bill, among other things, is undermining the country's effort to address climate change.

But Vernon Tava told The Weekend Collective this isn't true.

"Labour and it's coalition partners could get this bill through on numbers, so to then claim that the whole scheme is being threatened by National opposition is pretty over the top." 

Tava is widely expected to launch his own so-called Blue/Green Party in time for next year's election.
