Loyal Wellington Saints fans will no doubt remember the name Kevin Owens - the big 7-foot centre who played for the NBL in the capital in 2007.
It began his friendship and memorable on-court combination with long-serving Saint Nick Horvath.
Kevin's pro basketball career saw him playing in the US, Poland, the Cairns Taipains in Australia, as well as for teams in in South Korea, Kosovo and Estonia.
He's written a book recounting the years as what he calls himself a "for hire" athlete travelling the globe for an entire career - and the ups and downs that come with it. Overseas Famous: The Travels and Tribulations of a Basketball Globetrotter is described as an honest and entertaining tale about the travels and tribulations of playing pro basketball worldwide.
