A sporting wish list for 2020:

- We at least draw this test series vs Ozzie. How about we start by winning a toss, Melbourne will do, Fozzie takes off like a rocket, the ABs play brilliantly AND we all get unified once again behind OUR team.

The Warriors don't have another year like the Warriors. In fact, all our trans-Tasman teams fire up with the Phoenix, Breakers, Warriors and Tuatara each making their respective play-offs.

We get loads of gold in Tokyo.

Beauden Barrett does not help the Blues get great again (he can play superbly, just not them).

Wayne Pivac does well in Wales (because he's a good b**tard).

We do the double over SA in TRC and it's the only games they lose, then we go to Twickers and reverse the s/f performance.

Dave Rennie does better with the Wallabies than Robbie Deans did (who won first 1st Bledisloe test then lost 10 in a row).

We get to see the best of the best heavyweights go at it and then one of them unifies every silly title there is.

We win the T20 WC (just be nice for as many of those same players that played the CWC to win a world title even this one). Lockie gets fit and plays heaps of tests.

Stephen Adams says Yes and finally turns out to play for the Tall Blacks.

The Crusaders are allowed to play a whole season without the name/logo thing being a thing at all (probably about the same chance as that as them not making the playoffs).

World Rugby changes just 1 law and lets PI players go back and play for their Pacific Island of origin.

Ryan Fox is right there on Day 4 in the hunt to win any one of those Majors.

The All Whites continue to get quality opposition and the side, the style continues to forge ahead under Danny Hay.

NZ and Ozzie win the bid to host the FIFA WWC.

Israel Adesanya continues to be The King.

Football worldwide ditches the VAR and lets the game be what it is meant to be.

Burling and Tuke stay put and no Swiss trillionaire tempts them asunder.

Weather is kind for the ASB Classic.

Lydia Ko goes a whole calendar year without sacking a coach.

East Coast wins a game and then, I dunno, maybe even another one.

My two sons stay happy and healthy, and, I dunno, maybe start paying some rent sometime.

And that yours, all your precious ones, have a happy safe and very merry Christmas and New Year and let's do this all again in 2020
