Police are investigating the fourth isolation facility breakout in a week.
The latest case involves a person in their late sixties who absconded from Waipuna Hotel in Auckland last night.
The person is accused of climbing out of a window of their room and then scaling the fence of the facility at around 11 o'clock.
They allegedly knocked on three residents' doors outside the Hotel grounds.
While people at the first property didn't answer, the second called the police.
At the third property the individual escapee spoke to a couple.
In a statement, Air Commodore Darryn Web says police picked them up around 75 minutes after they were last seen at the isolation hotel.
The person tested negative for their day three test and is said to be symptom free.
Radio Hauraki Breakfast host Matt Heath joined The Panel on The Weekend Collective to discuss this, along with the other big issues making news this week.
