Our Prime Minister will meet with her British counterpart just as the Brexit drama reaches another peak.

Jacinda Ardern will visit Theresa May in London before she travels to Davos in Switzerland, for the World Economic Forum.

However, that afternoon May will be presenting her 'Plan B' on Brexit to the UK Parliament that afternoon.

TVNZ Europe correspondent Joy Reid says it's hard to see how Ardern even managed to get an appointment.

But she told the Weekend Collective it sure means she'll get an audience outside Downing Street.

"Usually it's just us Kiwi media who turn up for that sort of thing when its Jacinda Ardern, but that media pen is going to be so packed with people from all over the world wanting a glimpse of Theresa May on her Plan B day."

Reid says that this is a strong sign of how the relationship with New Zealand is viewed, but it could backfire if May is distracted by her impending talks.

She says that New Zealanders should pay attention to Brexit, as the outcome could affect that relationship.
