In 1973 David Coverdale was plucked from relative obscurity, working in a mens boutique store, to become the lead singer of Deep Purple.
After Purple disbanded in 1976, he went on to a solo career before founding Whitesnake in 1978.
He’s a member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, being inducted alongside members of Deep Purple in 2016.
Whitesnake are heading to NZ in February alongside Scorpion. Lead singer David Coverdale talks to Andrew Dickens about the tour.
