Jacinda Ardern's management of Ihumātao has come under scrutiny as protesters call for nationwide support for next week.

They're encouraging people to picket outside Fletchers and subsidiary companies like Placemakers, Mico and Forman Building Systems.

Rāhera Herewini-Mulligan of Mokomoko Media says the National Day of Action, planned for Tuesday, is about building on the support and solidarity for those camping out in south Auckland.

She says rallies in local communities or a simple meet-up at a park will also do the trick.

Herewini-Mulligan says the support from churches, different cultural communities and from some politicians has been overwhelming.

The Prime Minister has yet to visit the site but there are growing calls for her to make an appearance, with international news organisations beginning to pick up on the story.

Political reporter Katie Bradford and political commentator Ben Thomas joined Andrew Dickens to discuss the situation and what can be done, as well as the main political parties cancer policies and Simon Bridges' latest bold move.
