In 2015 three-time world champion surfer, Australian Mick Fanning came face to face with a shark during the J Bay Open in South Africa.
Mick became the guy that punched a shark.
So five years on, Mick, now an ocean activist, set about to face his fears and better understand the creature he faced that day in Jeffrey’s Bay.
His journey from the Gold Coast to the Bahamas has been turned into a two part documentary, Save this Shark, set to air on National Geographic this Tuesday at 7.30pm.
Mick Fanning joined Francesca Rudkin to talk about facing his fears and diving with sharks.
