It’s been a few months since the travel bubble with the Cook Islands opened up – but what is there to do in the island nation?
The country is slowly seeing visitor numbers return - in July, they have bookings from 12,700 Kiwis to visit. Which is about 70% of their global visitor numbers from July 2019.
Air New Zealand has also announced that it will increase flights to 11 per week from next month and increase that again in the October school holidays.
Travel blogger Megan Singleton went along to a Cook Islands expo this week, which featured dozens of reps from the islands to showcase their hotels and activities.
She joined Francesca Rudkin to discuss what she learned about tourism on the island during the expo, and what potential travellers need to know about protocols – and activities!
