The photo is of an unknown man, restraining waiting media outside the Saudi Arabian embassy in Istanbul, after the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
The image is by photographer Chris McGrath, who sat outside the consulate for a month, trying to capture vision of a story, a story that was hidden away behind closed doors.
The photo has won the experienced Australian photojournalist first prize in the General News category at the 2019 World Press Photo Contest.
Chris, who now lives and works in Istanbul, has a host of events to his name … the election of Barack Obama, the fight against ISIS in Syria, the aftermath of multiple natural disasters as well as five Olympic Games, the Superbowl and the FIFA World Cup.
Chris joins The Sunday Session with Francesca Rudkin to look back on his career and his photo which went global.
