This month marks the 60th Anniversary of NASA.
To mark the occasion, a documentary, Above and Beyond: NASA’s Journey to Tomorrow, has been made and fittingly it has been directed and produced by niece of John F Kennedy, daughter of Robert Kennedy, Rory Kennedy.
It was in 1961, that President Kennedy announced the ambitious goal of sending a man to the moon before the end of the decade.
It was that challenge that set NASA on its course and the goal was achieved in 1969 when Neil Armstrong first set foot on the moon.
Kerre McIvor spoke with Rory Kennedy about the documentary, the legacy of NASA, and her family.
