A captain's knock from Dean Brownlie has led Northern Districts to a 45 run win over Wellington in their domestic cricket Twenty20 opener in Hamilton.
The former Black Cap top scored with 99 runs, as the Knights set the Firebirds 216 for victory, before they were dismissed for 170.
Brownlie's reluctantly basking in his efforts.
He says T20 can be hit or miss, but he got a bit of luck and managed a good score.
Anton Devcich was ND's best with the ball, taking four wickets for 27 runs.
