Judith Collins has slammed the Government after some growers in the horticulture sector revealed they were still bleeding money because of a lack of workers to fill jobs.Â
Apple growers in Hawkes Bay are reportedly struggling to pick more than 40 percent of their crop.
The National Party Leader told Jamie Mackay it's an issue they addressed last year.
"The Government said they had a plan by getting all these unemployed people to go off and pick them, it's not happening."
Collins says they've got a plan to deal with the issue.Â
"We'll bring in the people who actually will do the picking, and the way to do that is to open up a Trans-Tasman bubble with Australia."Â
