While Parker was squaring up against opponent Hughie Fury, members of both camps were throwing out verbal barbs before the Brit pushed the kiwi.
Handlers of both fighters were involved in the fracas.
Parker says there was some needling going on up on the stage.
"He was just saying it was his time, a new champion, whatever. I just said relax little boy, relax. And I said it real calm, and said I'll test your chin out."
Parker has weighed in at 112kg, with Fury in at 102kg.
