New Zealand Rugby's stepping in to help the Blues.
It's taking over Murray Bolton's 40 per cent stake in a bid to bring stability and better executive decision-making to the troubled Super Rugby franchise.
NZR chief operations officer Nigel Cass says they're acting on Alan Isaac's independent report, which found the Blues board members aren't working well together.
"A way to fix that is to change some of the people, to get some different faces around that table, to get some New Zealand Rugby influence, and to work from there."
NZR has agreed with the remaining Blues owners, the Auckland, North Harbour and Northland rugby unions, to hold its shareholding until a process has been completed to identify alternative private investors.
