Kylie Findlay is also calling for the sunscreen industry to be regulated, after a Consumer NZ study found 60 per cent of those on the market don't meet SPF claims.
She says we fund medication for children and sunscreen should fall under that category.
Findlay says there's strong evidence that it prevents skin cancer and kids are our most vulnerable population to protect.
