The Race Relations Commissioner says nowadays it's not okay to say an Irish joke.

Meng Foon told Phil Gifford and Simon Barnett jokes can degrade a person's ethnicity.

He says systemic racism and unconscious bias is prevalent in society, and communities need to be educated.

"I think we've got to find other jokes to tell that doesn't involve degrading people's dignity."

Foon says that society is a bit more PC, and it is degrading to any community.

He says that education and calling people out is very important to tell people that jokes and comments are not right.
