Fifty years of 1 News: A look back at the newsreaders

This weekend marks the 50th anniversary of New Zealand's first nationwide television news broadcast.

On November 3, 1969, Dougal Stevenson read the news for NZBC Network News, now 1 News.

Simon and Phil spoke to current newsreader Simon Dallow and former 1 news reader Bernadine Oliver Kirby about being a newsreader, and their memories of the iconic newsreaders of the past.
