Google's looking at your photos

They're scanning them for text to help you find what you're looking for.

Imagine you take a photo of a receipt, or of a sign, or a recipe. You know its somewhere in your camera roll but you don't know where - now you can search for it.

It's actually something that Microsoft has had since the end of 2017 in OneDrive, but now Google Photos will use AI and OCR technology to search photos and screenshots. And they take it one step further and let you copy and paste from it!

Apple's credit card has launched

Yes, thousands of titanium cards are flying through the mail. They're heavy, pretty and very simplistic. But there's a catch. If you keep it in a leather wallet or in a jeans pocket the pearley white card will discolour. First world problems! Bring on the Apple Card cases?

There's an Instagram hoax going around?

It's caught out some high profile people! The message says IG will soon have permission to make deleted photos and messages public and use those posts against them in court, unless they post a message to their account...but this is #fakenews. The message isn't going to do anything. Read the TOS people! If you delete the photo you delete IG's rights to license that photo, and IG can share your data with law enforcement with a warrant or court order. A random message isn't going to change that.
