Andrew Dickens gives us his thoughts on Amy Shark's album Love Monster.
On first listen this is solid symphonic electronic pop with an edge. She’s has a memorable voice and a nice range. But then you realise that many of the lyrics are a bit meh. Then you hear Jack Antunoff and Joel Little repeating the Lorde production tricks they developed. That’s when you think a record company has decided to throw cash at Amy to create and Australian Lorde. So the sentiments lose their authenticity. Good album not a great one. 6/10
