Passionvine hoppers are Australian imports which are part of the frog-hopper group.

For those of you who have problems visualising the two active stages of passionvine hoppers (Scolypopa australis), the picture surely tells a few hundred words.

In October the hopper eggs hatch into tiny little larvae that look, under the microscope, like miniature froglets with long, white fluffy tails.
