Blame most often is a wasted game, especially around unresolved issues.

And climate change is surely one of the greatest unresolved issues of the modern age. Unresolved in terms of having everyone on board to the claim it's our fault and we need to do something about it. And also unresolved around, even if you are on board, the cold hard truth is that we aren't.

And if blame is futile, what about wastage, as in energy. How much time has gone into the rhetoric, the hot air, the protest, and the alarmism around the world coming to an end as we know it because of our refusal to cut emissions and do the so-called "right thing."

It's been a bad week for facts. New numbers from the United Nations, greenhouse gases have set a new record this past year. Paris? What was the point? Kyoto? What was the point?

They're meeting in Madrid next week. They can save themselves the money and the carbon footprint, it will be the same as every other meeting, just hit repeat.

More facts, oil demand has gone up as well this year to record levels. Coal has literally never been in greater demand. China is burning more coal than it ever has, Australia is supplying more coal than it ever has.

China has added enough coal power to light up 31 million homes, and is now in the process of building or reviving the coal equivalent of the European Union's entire generating capacity. It is also financing a quarter of all coal production outside its borders.

Iran has discovered a new oil field with over 50 billion barrels. What do you think they're going to do with it?

There is a company in Newcastle, Australia, NCIG, which reported this week that they're expecting a record year. And not just them, mines all over New South Wales are ramping up. Why? Because the customers are queuing and can't get enough.

That is this week's fossil fuel news. And I have barely scratched the surface, that is your reality.

And yet from a poll in Australia, a "social cohesion report," what's the concern that’s risen the most? That’s right, climate change. The economy, followed by climate change.

The question is, is it really a concern? Or have we simply been ear bashed so badly by the radicals and protesters we want to say climate change because it either shuts them up, or we feel it’s the right thing to say? Because what we say and what we are doing are two different things.

That is called being dishonest. And I wonder if the alarmism has been so virulent it's scared us into submission. The problem is too hard, and the choices are too difficult, so nothing changes.

Either way, the facts don’t lie. Whether it's can't or won't, we simply aren't changing.
