Television superstar William Shatner, who is best known for playing James T. Kirk, in Star Trek, is returning to New Zealand.
Shatner's World, The Return Down Under is a theatrical journey through the star's life and career, from Shakespearean stage actor to internationally acclaimed icon and raconteur.
In addition to returning to Auckland, Shatner will perform for the first time in Christchurch and Wellington in October this year.
Shatner told Mike Hosking he is in tip top shape for his show.
"I keep myself fit for a number of reasons; horses and my wife and kids and bicycling and all that, but the other is to perform on stage the way I do."
He says the inspiration for his show comes from his extensive career.
"The things that happen to me don't seem to happen to other human beings [...] so I'm telling these humorous stories, in many cases, that hardly seem real but they are indeed and they actually happened to me."
Shatner will perform in Auckland on October 13, Christchurch October 14 and Wellington October 15.
Tickets went on sale on July 30 from https://www.shatnerdownunder.com/
