The technology that revolutionised vacuum cleaners is now move into beauty products.Â
Launching today in New Zealand is the new Dyson Airwrap Styler and Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer.
They are also making waves in the industry when it comes to women in STEM, as evidenced by Veronica Alanis, an advanced insight engineer who is heavily involved with the new projects.
She told Mike Hosking that traditional hairdryers are quite large and bulky, but this will be easier to use.Â
"What we've done is designed our own motor that is small, light but also super powerful."
Alanis says that the cost of Dyson products is justified due to the long-term standard of the product.
She says that more information is coming through the education system that is seeing more female engineers come into the industry.Â
