Dairy NZ is pleased with the changes to Freshwater regulations.Â
The modified policy means no stock can enter rivers or streams more than a metre wide, fences must be three metres from a waterway, and stock can't graze within three metres of waterway banks.
Chief Executive Tim Mackle told Mike Hosking the sector has been advocating for change for a while.
He says like all New Zealanders, dairy farmers share ambitions for healthy waterways.
"The sector has invested a lot of time and money for over a decade."
