Getting New Zealanders to see their own country will be the focus of the tourism industry, once we're allowed to move around again.
The nearly $41 billion tourism sector will have to start from zero again as Tourism New Zealand and the Government push the restart button.
Chief executive Stephen England-Hall told Mike Hosking tourism behaviour has shown that it bounces back after a crisis, and domestic visitors will drive the rebuild.
"Domestic tourism represented two thirds of the industry even before the Covid-19 lockdown.
"England-Hall says we must keep the New Zealand brand alive in the meantime."
