Westpac is introducing paid special leave for employees to attend Covid-19 vaccination appointments.

Workers will be able to apply for a half day for each of their jab appointments - totalling one full day of leave.

Institutional business banking general manager Simon Power told Mike Hosking a survey of staff found 85 per cent were likely to get vaccinated - so it was the logical thing to do.

“But for us, the broader picture is that the sooner the sooner we can get this job done, the sooner we’ll be able to open up the borders and hopefully, we will start to see that economic growth even out.”
