The Drug Foundation has commissioned a new report which has found that up to $240 million would be gathered each year in tax from a regulated market by regulating and decriminalising cannabis.
The Foundation says more concrete examples are showing that taking a healthy approach when it comes to drugs works out.
They have released a new report showing there would be up to $83 million in net social benefits annually by replacing the Misuse of Drugs Act with a health-based drug law.
