The Government has confirmed low-vaccinated areas will move to Red Level with Auckland, meaning social distancing and gathering limits. 

Taupō Business Chamber President Rory Scott told Mike Hosking that will take a huge toll on central North Island tourist towns, like Rotorua and Taupō. 

“I can’t emphasise enough, that the impact will be significant, a huge proportion of small businesses heavily reliant on Auckland foot traffic.”
