PGG Wrightson general manager of livestock, Peter Moore, told Mike Hosking says he's not surprised at the move.
He says the number of cattle livestock being exported has diminished over the past five years.
Moore says we also need to remember that New Zealand's had a great record of exporting breeding stock to other countries with minimal issues.
