The Prime Minister says businesses affected by the mosque attacks can't be compared to those dealing with City Rail Link disruption.

Auckland businesses affected by the rail link construction are asking for compensation.

The government is reconsidering funding for businesses shut behind the cordon in the days after the mosque attacks in Christchurch.

Jacinda Ardern told Mike Hosking Auckland businesses should raise their concerns with NZTA, and the two situations should not be compared.

The Prime Minister says she has dealt with NZTA in the past with local developments in her area.

"A number of these businesses will get a significant uplift in business when this project is finished."
