National's Mark Mitchell says Paula Bennett isn't going anywhere -- even if Winston Peters wishes she would.
Newstalk ZB understands Peters has offered to drop a lawsuit against National MPs and staffers, if Bennett agrees to resign.
The lawsuit was sparked by the leak of Peters' pension overpayment details.
Mark Mitchell told Mike Hosking Bennett won't be resigning -- and will be front and centre of next year's election campaign.
"She's our campaign chair, she's going to be a high energy campaign chair."
He says that to even make the demand is outrageous.
"That's a surge sign that Winston has taken a frivolous case, it's going nowhere and he's just trying to get some headlines out of it before it goes down in a ball of flames."
