While many fruit businesses are still shipping out product during Covid-19, they're also struggling to find workers.
Companies like Yummy Apples rely on backpackers to top up fruit picker numbers, but many have flown home.
Yummy Apples General manager Paul Paynter told Mike Hosking they're going to lose 12 million apples this year as they simply don't have the workers to pick them.
"That's about 10 percent but it's not the end of the world, especially looking at industries like tourism or hospitality."
Paynter says they're missing the backpackers and skilled workers.
