More industries are set to feel the effects of the global computer chip shortage.
The world's third largest electronics contract manufacturer, Flex, says the shortage could last another year, if not into 2023.
However, IT Professionals New Zealand chief executive Paul Matthews told Mike Hosking says the shortage is a misunderstood issue.
“There isn’t a supply issue; it’s a supply chain issue. It’s getting their hands on it, and everybody panicking a little bit, like they did with toilet paper and buying these things up.”
