There's no simple solution to our family and sexual violence crisis.

The Government's Wellbeing Budget will invest more than $320 million over four years into helping break cycle.

The money will go towards allowing victims to give video statements in court to reduce trauma, specialist training for lawyers in sexual violence cases, and better support services for victims.

HELP executive director, Kathryn McPhillips, told Mike Hosking this budget takes a different approach.

"There's not one answer to this, we need to be coming into this in many different ways and this is what this budget starts to do."

How to get help

If you're in danger now:

• Phone the police on 111 or ask neighbours of friends to ring for you.
• Run outside and head for where there are other people.
• Scream for help so that your neighbours can hear you.
• If you are being abused, remember it's not your fault. Violence is never okay.
