Former New York Times editor Jill Abramson joins Mike Hosking to talk about news, and the changes news media has gone through.

Abramson says the news media's gone through big changes over the past decade, with many being negative.

"I've been a journalist for 40 years. I've seen it all."

However she says for the most part the future is bright.

"All of the multimedia channels that we can use to tell stories has been a good thing, it;s deepened journalism i some cases and it;s democratised information."
