The New Plymouth mayor wants clarity from the Government on what its oil and gas plans are.

Jacinda Ardern is in Taranaki today, unveiling the next steps to transition away from the oil and gas industry.

New Plymouth Mayor, Neil Holdom, told Mike Hosking many businesses are ready to invest in this transition.

"It's actually an economic and an engineering challenge not a political one. So if you actually want to de-carbonise the economy, you actually need to do it with business people and commercial people that actually know how these things work."
