An expert geologist doubts any further action can be taken following the discovery of human remains at Pike River Mine.
Almost 11 years to the day since the disaster, they've been captured in images during boring efforts deep into the mine.
The images were taken from the shaft's farthest reaches, and are impossible to recover.
Murray Cave told Mike Hosking nothing more can be done.
“A, you can’t get there, to get those bodies out. Also, this is actually not anything particularly new, we already knew and had seen imagery of those bodies during the Pike River Royal Commission time back in 2011.”
