An admission from the Government, that the "vaccine pass" system will rely on trust, rather than enforcement. 

Under the traffic light system, vaccine passes will be required for a range of activities. 

The Ministry of Health says venues must scan vaccine passes with the official Verifier app before allowing entry, but Jacinda Ardern says businesses can simply "sight" the passes without scanning them. 

Workplace Relations Minister Michael Wood told Mike Hosking ultimately, they'll rely on businesses and the public to just do the right thing. 

“The expectation is people show their vaccine passes but we’re not going to have squads of people out enforcing that at every little café around the community.”
