Sky and some internet service provides are at odds over who should deal with pirated content.
A survey commissioned by Sky TV has found 300,000 New Zealanders are watching pirated versions of sports events on the web.
The broadcaster is proposing internet providers should block websites that provide the content.
Screen Association managing director Matthew Cheetham told Mike Hosking many do not want to because it is a hassle.
"It is something they don't want to do, as customers will get upset when they can't get their "free stuff".
