A call for border restrictions to be eased, so wealthy tourists can come to New Zealand.

Luxury travel company Seasonz says the travellers, who are mostly American, could isolate and be pre-tested for Covid-19 a couple of times in their own countries.

Co-founder Matt Lines says they could then travel here, isolate again, and be free to tour around our country.

He told Mike Hosking well-heeled tourists want to come here and stay for a long time with their families.

"They buy coffees, go to the movies, engage with fishing guides and helicopters, and the whole supply chain."

"It would be a massive economic benefit."
