Every Friday morning, Mike Hosking takes you through the big ticket items of the week and lets you know what he makes of it all.

Here's a taste of what he reckons.

The week of problems for the government.

4/10.

"Between Clare Curran, refugees, work place reform, Meka Whaitiri, and the Peters' factor, it makes for fun observation.

But inside that cabal, the rubber is starting to hit the road."

Fonterra.

3/10.

"They got away with being big, fat, and arrogant when the money was flowing.

Now it's not and they can't get a CEO, they're exposed.

And a massive turnaround is required both for investors and the rest of us who see this country’s largest business looking like an amateurish mess."

Port Ahuriri School and their fundraiser.

7/10.

"I am sorry for them. Sorry for the idiots, moaners, and time wasters at the DHB, and their 700 pages of bollocks that put the kibosh on a bit of wine at the fundraiser.

It's pathetic."

Naomi Osaka.

7/10.

"One, for winning the US Open. But more importantly, for being gracious in the face of a prima donna."

Serena Williams and the meltdown.

2/10.

"It wasn’t sexist, it wasn’t racist, it was petulant crap.

She was the prima donna."

Business New Zealand and the Courts over Labour Reform.

6/10.

"It shows you the level of concern among business over this and tells you why confidence is where it is.

But ultimately we all know who the top rule maker is, and it isn't the courts."

Kirstie Allsopp.

7/10

"For smashing her kids IPads when they broke the rules on Fortnite.

All power too her."
