At the end of each week, Mike Hosking takes you through the big-ticket items and lets you know what he makes of it all.

The Blackcaps: 9/10

"Good, because we won.

Even better because we were able to win in a flawed format that wasn’t thought through, given the weather.

It had a very average look about the potential outcome."

Winston Peters: 6/10

"Because he's fun in that, "seriously? Another crack?" Kind of way."

Laurel Hubbard's Olympic Selection: 3/10

"The personal side of this is not in question, the sporting side most definitely is.

It's a vexed and yet poor decision that will haunt sport for years to come."

Tokyo Olympics: 6/10

"I think it's madness, but I'll give them a positive mark for balls. The Olympics is on and there will be crowds.

If it works, they've shown courage. If it doesn’t, watch the fallout."

CBD Vacancy Rates: 3/10

"Auckland and Wellington don't get it. Christchurch does.

That's why their rate has dropped and the other two have gone up.

Make your city appealing you will win. Fill it with cones, ban cars, kill parking, and guess what?"

Interest Rates: 6/10

"This is a good news, bad news story.

Good news, they're going up sooner because the world is back.

Bad news, you watch the fallout from people and countries in debt that weren't expecting it."

Len Brown: 2/10

"Are you serious? A movie about Len Brown? With public money? How mad has the world gone?

Why would we spend money on a bloke who's sole claim to fame is activity in a room unbecoming of a Mayor, the woman involved, and the room?

Naomi Osaka: 3/10

"Doesn't like the media, doesn't want to be asked questions, and wants special rules and exemptions.

But you can catch her on the cover of Vogue."
